PLWC Begins Center Hill Sewer Project |
| |
July 30, 2008
For about two months, construction crews have been working on a major sewer project for the Center Hill area west of Paragould. The old sewer lines in Center Hill have deteriorated and were initially built on a low gravity grade making it hard for PLWC to pump wastewater from the fast growing area across town to the sewer treatment facility located off of S. 2nd Avenue. Bids were taken from several construction companies. S & J Construction out of Jacksonville, AR won the bid for the pipe and Tate Construction from Jonesboro, AR is constructing the lift station.
The new sewer line will be up to 30" in diameter at certain points. It will run from Tech Elementary on S. Rockingchair along the 8-Mile Creek up to the lift station which will be at the end of Bogil Rd. The line will leave the lift station and run to a force main located behind Wal-Mart on Carroll Rd.
The new lift station will be the largest in the system once complete. It will provide for future growth around its location and alleviate trouble areas in Center Hill. |
