I know many of you have been waiting for me to post and I've finally figured out how to do it! Below are just a few of the websites that have educational activities for kids of all ages. Some of the links are specifically for 1st grade, but you can go in and change it to another grade as needed. Even if your child does not receives resource services, these are fabulous ways to reinforce classroom instruction.

Starfall - Activities for Beginning Readers. This is a popular favorite! Endless enjoyment. You can really feel good about your child navigating around this rich, colorful site. It will have him/her reaching for the sky. http://www.starfall.com/
Star Words - Sight Word Game It's a real blast! Very stimulating music, so prepare yourself. Children feel as if they are in control of the space ship. This game has three levels to add that element of challenge. Dare your child to learn the words at the first level so he/she can advance to the other two!! Jigzone Puzzle Gallery - This is a site for sore eyes! Children pick a picture and...PRESTO! A jigsaw puzzle is generated. They can choose how many pieces they want the puzzle to contain. A statisfying clicking sound is heard every time a piece is fitted into its correct posistion. Enjoy this site knowing that research supports the positive effects of puzzles in brain development.
