The beginning of the 2009-2010 school year is fast approaching.  It seems like only yesterday that we were shooing the students out the door for summer break.  Now we are less than four weeks away from the start of the school year.  I am writing to inform you of some important information that you will need as we start our school year. 

Parent Orientation Meetings

At least one parent/guardian is required to attend the Parent Orientation Meeting conducted by their child’s teacher.  These meetings should last no more than an hour, and are very important in helping establish positive and helpful communication between school and home.  You will be asked to fill out an Emergency Contact card for each of your children for the current school year.  This meeting is for parents/guardians only.  We ask that children do not attend.  If you cannot attend, your child’s teacher will contact you to set up a time when they can visit with you about the information covered at the Parent Orientation Meeting. 

The Fourth Grade orientation is Thursday, August 13 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

First Day of School

School for Kindergarten through Grade 6 begins on Wednesday, August 19 with a full day. 

Back-To-School-Bash

PALS is hosting the Back-To-School-Bash will be Monday, August 17.  The Bash will be at the Alma Water Park.  PALS has the park reserved for First Lutheran from 5:00  - 7:00 p.m.  A parent must be in attendance with their child(ren).  No drop-offs are allowed.  Please come out and enjoy yourselves.
