Greene County Tech Primary School created an outreach program that aims toward nurturing children’s social and academic needs through community support. Several programs under one center:

1.         WATCH D.O.G.S is a program for father-figures to be a positive role model, while the school gains an extra set of eyes and ears. Fathers spend meaningful time with their children in the school setting and gain a greater awareness of a positive impact they can have in a child’s life.

2.         Clothing Closet provides replacement clothing and shoes for children who experience playground, lunchroom, restroom and any other kid-type accidents that occur during a school day.

3.         “Kuts for Kids” a haircut program designed to provide discreet free haircuts by a volunteer licensed beautician. Haircuts are given only with parent’s consent.

4.         Resource materials are available for parents to check out and assist their child at home. The goal is to raise skill levels.

5.         Collaboration of community service projects with high school student organizations and local civic clubs.

The Parent Center mission is to clothe, feed, help raise self-esteem and make the children feel like their classmates, which in turn will enable them to learn.
