Engaging Students in Learning, One Book at a Time

The media center at Greene County Tech Primary School is set up to participate effectively in the school programs as it strives to meet the needs of students, teachers, parents, and other community members.  We hope to provide students with the library materials and services most appropriate and most meaningful in their growth and development as individuals.  We will strive to stimulate and guide students in all phases of their reading, so that they may find increasing enjoyment and satisfaction and may grow in critical judgment and appreciation.

When visiting the primary media center, you will find an inviting atmosphere that promotes reading and fun.  You will hear stories read aloud, see students illustrating stories, self-selecting books and many other activities that support the established curriculum. Parents are always welcome to drop in and see what is happening in the library media center.

Each year, we have one book fair in the spring.  The book fair provides an opportunity for students and parents to select quality and educational books to help build home libraries. Proceeds from the book fairs are placed in the library activity account, which is then used to purchase items that will benefit all students. In the past, proceeds from the book fairs have been used to fund "Celebrate Arkansas Day", purchase the large screen in the gym, purchase t-shirts for field day, and many other worthy projects.
