Presbyterian Church (USA)

The highest governing body, consisting of representatives from presbyteries and synods, is the General Assembly (GA). Meeting bi-annually, the GA serves Presbyterians nationwide by thinking through and acting on issues of a theological, missional, socio-economic, spiritual, and geographical nature.

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is governed by a two-part Constitution. Part One consists of the Book of Confessions, which is comprised of 11 creeds, confessions, and catechisms that expound upon Scripture, interpreting it for the life of the church. Part Two consists of the Book of Order, which is comprised of three major sections: the Form of Government; the Directory for Worship, and the Rules of Discipline.

The PC (U.S.A.) consists of 173 presbyteries across the land.
